Default Cable rig?

Has anyone tried nylon coated wire rope from like home depot, lowes etc. for making shark rigs?

Sure, you can use that, and many ppl do. There's plenty of talk about the Charks being very sensative to any exposed metal and not biting the bait. Some ppl use the stuff you are talking about and wrap up all the metal crimps with e-tape.

Then there are others who use lots of exposed metal and catch plenty of sharks. I would certainly try both methods, never hurts.

I made some rigs with malin wire and they look like crap lol. Not that it would matter what they look like but you know. I used a table top vice to crimp the sleeves and it smashed them flat. I need to get a crimper tool i guess. I used about 15' of 150 mono to a swivel, and then about 6' of malin #9 to a VMC 8/0 circle hook.
