Took the wife and kids to dam Neck to pay around and enjoy the afternoon and grabbed a few rods for us as well. Stopped by Bruce's picked up 2 eels and headed to the beach.
North winds layed down and water looked good with plenty of minnows in the waves. Nothing at first on anything, so I threw my stingsilvers and kept hooking up to spanish and blues, but kept losing them in close. finally landed a blue and had some fresh bait.
Nothing then a few roundhead on bloodworms, more bait!
checked eel and he was gone, so put out another one. Not in the water 2 minutes and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz fish on! Ended up with a 3.5' Sandbar so some nice pullage there and everyone was happy.
Next thing you know my wifes rod starts screaming and she is hooked up to another fiesty sandbar shark. All the way to the suds and she came unbuttoned as I was reaching to grab her tail..Oh well, but my wife was pissed she lost the fish!
Piece of fresh roundhead on the heaver and after 5 minutes...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, here we go again with another sandbar shark.
Packed up and headed in after that.
Tally:
(3) 3.5ft Sandbar sharks
(2) Roundhead
(1) Bluefish
(6-8) lost spanish/blues in the suds
