Talking Staying @ Rose Hill (Bluffton)... Want to Fish

I am staying in Rose Hill next week and looking for a good place to go fishing.

I know HH Island is off limits....

Anyone help me with a location and bait needed.

    Thanks

    Welcome to the board!!

I can't help you with Rose Hill, but someone will shortly.
Just wondering why you say HH is off limits...
    Other than gated communities.
Do they encompass the entire island now?

I have had no luck finding a fishing friendly spot on the island. I have went to Hunting Island and has some luck but, that is alittle too far from Rose Hill.

I thought about the pier just outside of Beaufort on the broad but not sure.

    Any suggestions?

I fish the pier at broad river all the time, mostly just bottom fishing have seen a few small cobia caught there this year but that season is about over tho. You can get frozen bait at wally world or any of the other small bait stores around. You also have the small pier between the bridges going on to hh and you have the pier in port royal on battery creek.

If you are talking about the pier on 170 at the bridge, that's a good spot. Being as long as it is, it's good access to deep water.
Even better access is the old bridge, it goes a quarter way across the river. As far as I know, it's still open.
If you are military, the MCRD is good too, you can rent boats from them.

    Thanks for the info Shortbed....

Thanks guys. Do I need to get to the bridge @ the broad early to get a spot?

Short: is the pier just past the outlets on the first bridge?

Hey chicknwsl sorry I got back to ya so late health issues. The pier between the bridges is on 170 on your right headed onto the island. The pier on the broad is the second bridge headed into beaufort turn left after you cross the bridge and that side road will take you to the pier as far as getting there early I don't think you have to get there early it is a very large pier. Good Luck
