Fishing Reports for June 19 - 30 2009

Ryan and I went out for a few hours last night. We had caught one butterfly ray....

Had another on and lost it. Did have one screamer but dropped the bait before we got to the rod.

The waves were crashing pretty good, too good for sharkin in my view, but tonight the winds are supposed to be light so maybe that will help. Gonna try it again tonight.

Anyone know where I can get some dry wood?????

Phil, If you come down 376 (I think you go this way)...not sure if the wood is dry, but that place on the right as you come down 376, about a mile or 2 from 113 sells firewood.

My buddy Tim and I drifted the bay behind Ocean City this morning. We decided to anchor on a sandbar and toss a jig with a Gotcha! 4" swimming mullet. I caught a 15" bluefish and this fat striped bass. Our net was not big enough for the fish so I had to get it to the surface and pick it up using my "bear hug" technique.

When cleaning it, we found four small flounder in it's stomach!

About an hour later, we saw birds diving on a shallow water sandbar. As we drifted closer, we watched a 5-6" sandbar / dusky shark thrash around in 2-3' of water. That was another first for me!

That place is alive with all sorts of critters. If you venture about, you may even find a few nice triggerfish!

Weird...are these torn tails sign of maybe sick stripers slow to move north or have they actually been struck by sharks.

Nice day on the beach...yaked some baits...no takers.

It appears sharks have been chasing stripers!

Well Ryan, Barbara, and I went out again last night for a few hours. First stop was Harbor Tackle for bait. Then we got the fire started and s'mores going.

First run produced this dusky shark? At least I think it is a dusky...



Then another.



I am not sure if these pics are gonna load or not but two runs and two landed.
