Delaware Surf Reports 5/1 to 5/15

Could someone please tell me what is so hard about this surf fishing stuff. Just kidding, but did catch another nice fish from the beach today but this had to be a fluke. Maybe this hot streak will continue for the tournament tomorrow. I had 3 stripers all around 24", this 24" 5lb flounder, and two throwback flounder today. A gentleman next to me caught a really fat 38" rock today. There were a few bluefish caught at 3R's today also.

Well it wasn't a wasted trip. Fished 7:30-2:00 Friday am north of Indian River. Tried 3 r's from 6:30-9:30 Friday evening. Then 4:30am-9:00am Saturday back north of the inlet. Big Doggies & skates were all I caught or saw caught. I'll be anxious to see how the tournament anglers made out.
Big doggies though. First picture is from first cast Friday around 7:30 am. North of Indian river. Measured just shy of 48". Anyone have an estimate on a weight. All my fish were on cut bunker. Second Picture is of a little visitor I had Friday & Saturday. Well, hopefully will be back down if a few weeks gotta try to roundup some blues and stripers.

Fished the OIBT touney on Saturday, finally the striper fishing is getting good. 37 inch striper and my nephews 31 inch striper (he won the kids division) off the Fenwick surf.

Had a good couple days Friday eve and Saturday on the DE beaches for the tourney.
the pics below shows my 35", a 38", 39", and another 38". I personally lost a lot more fish than what is shown here....too much beer and fun to concentrate.
Must have caught 100 doggies over 4 feet between 6 of us.....big boys.
Sarurday turned out to be a great day, as the tiops of my feet are still screamin' from the sun.
The striped babies are in the surf!! judging by the scattering of them from the bay north...should be good for a while.

I beleive all the fish..and all i was throwing...was bunkah heads. The skates would eat the smaller chunks, so Heads were the required bait. Cool thing is that they were caught right in the wash...and WAY out there...like over 100 yds.
3R's is the HOT Ticket.....drive on and head south....shhh.

We're finally heading down this weekend, after having Communions and Weddings all spring. We'll be down in South Bethany, i'm hoping to get my cooler rack for the front of my 4runner back this week. I didnt like the height clearance on it, so i took it to my family's sheet metal shop and had them add 6inches of clearance.
