| Flounder fishing in the bay today was slow. I caught one flounder at 20" on a 1/2 oz jig with a Fin-S. I saw a few other flounder caught by the other 20 or so boats working the spot. On a side note, the idiocy of some boaters never ceases to amaze me. I pulled up to start my drift in an area I like with about 15' of water. On the third drift I caught my flounder. 2 guys in a Privateer Skiff zoom right up and get in on the drift behind me. On the next drift they jump in front of me and begin to motor backwards towards my boat to slow their drift. I thought my boat was drifting faster than theirs, so for three times I motored away. The fourth time, I saw what the guys were doing and refused to pull away. The clown backing the boat into me muttered something at me about being too close to him. What kind of MORON backs his boat into yours four times and then cusses you out? I got his number and will be reporting him Monday. Last edited by Flatfish; 04-15-2007 at 04:42 PM.. |

| You have to wonder why anyone would do those kinds of things. Sadly it happens to me all the time - but I will not budge and if they get in my way I will let myself drift right into them - I really do not care - lol. Heres a tip go down to the boardwalk and get yourself one of those rubber stingrays from the arcade or sunsations or whereever. Cut the tail off tie it to a length of mono. Every time you land a flattie get up and toss the rubber stingray over. Keeps them thinking you are nailing tiny flounder. Chances are they will not want to cover you as bad. |
