Beach Fishing First of 2007

Fished the last of the outgoing and finally caught my first Striper of 2007. 25 inch Striper on a bunker colored Storm lure at the Inlet. Not a sore on it and it was nice and heavy. Released quickly and swam back into the deep.
I fished 2 hours Sunday mainly with bucktails but not even a hit. I decided to switch to the Storm lure today and retrieve it slowly along the rocks. Just as my son says, "Dad, can we leave if you don't catch one in the next 10 casts?", the striper inhaled the lure and took some line.

I'm glad the skunk is off my back!

Nothing like getting the stink off and it's still early with plenty of good fishing going to happen the next couple months. Congrats and great report!
