Time to go fishing because there is plenty going on for charter and private boats alike. Small makos and blues are showing up on the inshore lumps and thresher along the buoy line. There are yellowfins along the edges of the canyons from the Baltimore southward. There are fair numbers of dolphin being taken by trollers.Try flounder fishing in the shipping channel in the ocean, in the Lewes/Rehoboth canal, and Delaware Bay. Fishing with minnows (either with or without a strip of squid), is a good choice of bait. Try fresh cut bait of tapered strips of sea robin or shark belly. There has been a little sporadic sea bass action. However, taug, have been reported on some of the artificial reef sites. Green crab and sand-fleas are bait of choice. Croakers are soon to be so make sure you get busy fishing and be sure to remind folks to check out the size limits and practice safe catch and release for any fish that you don’t think will make the table.
