Default SharkTournament Concern

There is an organization of animal rights group (one of the country’s largest) writing letters and purchasing newspaper ads and banners to stop shark tournaments around the East Coast including Ocean City, MD.

The Humane Society of the United States considers shark fishing methods are barbaric and helps destroy the waning populations of thresher, mako and blue sharks. Tournament organizers insist the sharks caught during the tournament are not on the endangered list.
