Unfortunately, there are only two trips to talk about—four excursions were cancelled because of the foul weather that was with us most of the week.
On Friday Dick Weisberg of Norwalk and his friend, James, had a good day jigging up bass and blues at 11B as well as the Obstruction Buoy. The bluefish weighed as much as 10 pounds, and the stripers came in up to 27”.
Tuesday morning’s trip was with David Valluzzo of Easton who brought along his dad, New Canaanite, John—as a birthday gift for the elder Valluzzo. We again fished at the OB—tallying almost two dozen striped bass on diamond jigs. We also got about a dozen bluefish at the same spot, and the Valluzzos kept three for the table. The action lasted about 3 hours; we then ended the day at 11B with a few more blues.
The fall migration is definitely ongoing, with loads and bass and blues in our midst; if the weather starts to cooperate, the local anglers should enjoy lots of excitement in the next few weeks.
