Good mojo.I'm no Critter Gitter or Coop but I had some nice stripers and my largest red (50.5") on that rod. You can't beat those OM rods for the price. Not too heavy and will throw a ton. They will handle big sharks and rays. It will catch plenty of skate also. Trust me on that one.
Selling all these rods because I'm replacing them with ones I built myself

yeah I agree those OM rods are a great deal even at full retail price. I already have 2 of them so I know how they handle.

I am glad it has some Drum Ju Ju on it! I can't even get a sniff of that creature yet!

I am going to attempt to start building a couple of my own rods, but I will keep my OM's and Tica's for when family and friends come fishing!

that's what I did Jim, worked out great I think. I have "loaners" and then my untouchables, I fish them all though and have changed/rebuilt most of them. I converted all my Tica's to spinning which is great for that rod, one thing I would change on that is I would have put lowriders on them instead of single purpose. Just something to think about.

I am not going to touch any of my stock rods for a bit yet. Its going to be awhile until I can replace my arsenal with custom rods, i just don't have that kinda money laying around right now! I am planning on building 1 rod every couple of months or so. I really need to start saving money for a downpayment on a house This fishing thing really put a dent in my wallet the past year.....

I was cleaning all my reels this past week getting ready for the spring and i couldn't believe how much money I have spent in the past year on fishing stuff, just the rods and reels, 3 Mag 525's, 2 Avet SX , Penn Senator 113H, 4 Tica rods , 2 (now 3) ocean master rods, a daiwa rod a couple 50 -70 dollar spinning reels, a couple spinning rods to go with them.

And I don't regret a single one of those purchases!!! I am well set for the next couple of years for surf fishing! Only thing left is the Kayak!

over the past year I've added 4 customs and built maybe 35 rods. I spent a TON but like you said, I'm set for a long time. Best is to stock up on guides, tape, thread, seats etc. Then when the opportunity arrises snatch a blank on the cheap. Doesn't hurt as bad that way.

Sorry for the thread jack Greenhorn!
