it's good to see they are planning to be open!

$110 is a small price to pay for the enjoyment I get out of being at AI, It'd be nice to roll in admission for the year though since the people that get the OSV permit are rarely at the other areas of AI and would not need further assistance/supervision/facilities.

No problem with the rate increases.

$200,000 for enforcement?
That's what? Four Rangers on a 50k salary to cover 24/7?
That sounds about right.

But what's with the 102k for maintenance of sand?
If they say it's for putting up fencing around the Plovers, that's under resource management I would think...

51k for sales? They're already in the office doing their normal duties.

I see Gov't finances everyday and how they do it.
The system is soooo flawed....

I'm sure vehicle maintenance is a huge part of it and I'm sure they lose markers etc during wash over.

Maybe they had to pad since they won't likely be raising rates for a couple years.

One thing is for sure, I won't have to worry about the nightly party crowds as much which is nice. Not that they will be checking tags at night and at the entrance, a huge chore to enforce.

I don't really have a problem with it....although I think if you buy the either of the 24 hour passes you shouldn't have to pay an entrance fee.

It always sucks when things are made more complicated and expensive. Now rangers get to have a new reason to stop and check everyone as they drive by past midnight, just to see if they can fine em, I mean make sure they are obeying the new access rules. Joy !!! All we need now is the saltwater license to kick into gear .....

rate increase will not change my agenda. You can't put a price on spending time at AI fishing with friends.

Who would you write a letter to suggesting that ok if you are going to raise the orv rates, throw in the admission for the 24 hour passes? I'd write a letter suggesting it!

I am in support of the increase, however I hate to sit in line to go fishing waiting for some yahoos who are just out driving on the sand cutting up the beach just for a fun 4x4 experience to come off. With all the other beaches available, The orv area should give fishermen a break. It is a lot easier carrying an umbrella and a towel out on the beach than coolers, bait, 6 rods, sand spikes and all the stuff we use fishing.

Isn't it the Delaware beaches that allow ORV access ONLY to fisherman? I believe most of us would consider it unfair to exclude others from enjoying the beach and yet allow ONLY them access. On the other hand, it would weed out the "yahoos" with their H2s romping through the dunes, etc
