It looks like you can get all 22" glowsticks for .34 cents a piece plus the discount. If you want assorted colors you can get them as low as .24 cents.
Even at .34 cents a piece I still don't see the cost benefit of using the 22 inch sticks over the 8" sticks for 4 cents a piece.
I would stick to whatever is working for you but I would also be open to trying some new things to cut costs, esp with the price of fuel now adays. Heck, maybe even the best solution is to use 8" sticks on the rods close to you and 22" sticks on the farther out rods.
