In the hopes of going sharkin' tomorrow, Oliver and I ran out to the Jackspot to load up on bluefish for bait.
When we got there, the water was green, dirty and cold. We trolled for 3 hours, with nothing to show for it. 5 or 6 other boats were there as well. As usual in
MD there was absolutely zero radio chatter, so I don't know how anyone else fared.
We decided to pull lines and head to the misfit reef. We pulled up next to the Morning Star, which was a good sign. We immediately hooked into the doggies, made an adjustment to out drift, then the sea bass bite turned on.....sort of.
Lots of dinks, but we kept a few of the larger ones for the pan.
Beautiful day on the water, if a little chilly. Tight 1-2' chop which the Glacier Bay ate up and asked for seconds.
Oliver got the biggest fish @ 19"
