I decided I would check out Assateague Island yesterday afternoon and see how much mess that storm had made. I called the Ranger Station and the woman I spoke with told me the OSV was open. So, I thought I might as well go fishing!

I got all geared up, went to Bucks to pick up some fresh and they stopped me at the door and everyone was in a frantic! The BEACH IS CLOSED!!! I thought, uh oh... I am going to have to... not the WALK OVER!!! But, I decided to pick up a few bunker and head down anyway. Well, I got to the pumps and the gate was still up... So, I aired down, snuck out just waiting for the ranger to shew me off.

The beach was pretty torn up. Tide was at PEAK high and I knew it, so I set up shop and started fishing with 12 oz and chunks. After about 20 minutes, I caught and released this beauty and then nothing but a few large smoothies and skates. Dave joined me after about a half hour and set up. The Seaweed was horrible, but I have seen worse. We will see what the wind will bring later this week.
