RECREATIONAL SECTOR:
Measures for conservation:
  • A prohibition on female harvest (exception for soft crabs).
  • A catch limit of 5-6 dozen crabs for licensed crabbers. The catch limit for the boat would be 10-12 dozen with 2 or more licensees on board..
Measures to alleviate user conflict:
  • Make the end time consistent for Bay and tributaries: Sunset.
  • Increase time difference between recreational and commercial trotliners (FROM 1/2 hour to 1 hour).

Lots of people upset over those proposed crab regs. Doesn't really matter to me, since I never kept female anyways.

6 dozen big crabs is usually more than a bushel anyways, so if you only keep big ones they essentially increased your limit.
