Yes Tom, they are there, you bet'cha.
Many years ago one was captured in a pound net at the top of the CB in North East
MD. Don't remember the size but that doesn't really matter does it? I have had "things" brush or run into me in the Potomac River while waiting for the ski boat to come back to me. The last time I swam in a river was the mid 80's. Well, c'ept for a short burst in cloudy water in the Keys last year.
I'll stick to a yak in the water (been bumped at night) or hit a pool if I want to swim.
