I don't know much about black drum biology but if they are
DE bay spawners then their travel is dictated by the amount of daylight and not temps. They won't spawn until the water warms up but they will still make the trip regardless. Now maybe they spawn elsewhere and summer in
DE bay...in that case I'm full of it.
Same reason we get that early run of stripers even though temps dictate otherwise...they're just passing through headed north to spawn in the
DE bay and northern tribs. Then it goes dead...like now unfortunately!
