send a pm to Flamethrower.....his buddy makes a conversion bar for the garcias, I bought two and they are perfect. you can't take off the top bar because you will loose stability but the levelwind comes off very easily I removed both of mine in under 20 min. including the gears in the left side of the reel housing. and unlike the replacement basket from garcia the conversion bar he makes is really inexpensive.
